About

In 2008, I went through the process of getting rid of my 20-inch tube TV. I couldn't even give it away with the working remote! I then went on to purchase, on a budget, a 47-inch flat-screen LCD HDTV. I still enjoy the TV to this day, but I didn't enjoy the shopping experience back then. Sure, I could have just picked the first TV I saw on the shelf and been on my way, but I wanted a "good" one I would enjoy for years to come. There was much information to consider, many stores to visit, I was pressed for time, and I raised expectations when I told friends and family I ditched the tube TV.

After the shopping experience, I created this website to amalgamate what I learned when switching to flat-screen technology. This site was created with the hope you will find it useful and you will benefit from it by saving time and making a better purchase. If you are a techie or already know the ins and outs of HDTVs, then you will probably not draw any new value from the site.

This site aims to entertain you with the basic information considered when purchasing a new flat-screen HDTV. Many people just want to buy their TV without worrying about the details but, alas, they can feel overwhelmed by lofty prices and technological options available to them.

As you read sections, if you feel there is additional information others will find useful when purchasing a new TV, or if you feel some sections can be improved, I invite you to share your ideas by posting comments in relevant area(s). If you disagree with something, your comments are still welcome with the hope the site can be improved.

Please note that spam and abusive comments in any form whatsoever, should they occur, are not acceptable and will be removed. You should note I am not an expert in television, HDTV, or related peripheral technologies but rather a one-time shopper. The information presented on this site could contain inaccuracies and you should know that technology becomes outdated as newer, better, products are put on the market each year. This site is not updated frequently enough to keep up with technological advances and trends.

Please enjoy the website! Happy reading ... and happy shopping!
